Garden Pests and Diseases |
|

|
- Remove weeds to minimise seeding and the
over-wintering of pests and diseases
- Keep an eye out for pear and cherry slug
on ornamentals and fruit trees. The telltale sign will be grazed
leaves that only have the veins left. Control them by drying them out
with vacuum cleaner dust

- Apply bulb food once leaves have sprouted and just after
flowering
- Most bulbs require full sun to light shade. Heavier shade will
produce taller stems and the reverse happens in full sun
- As a guide, plant bulbs twice as deep as the bulb is tall and
the same distance apart. The pointy end of the bulb should be up except
for anemone and ranunculi which you plant pointy end down!
