Irrigation
  • Check drippers as slugs and earwigs hide in them. If the holes in Dripeze have blocked, insert pressure-compensating drippers in the line close to the blocked hole or put another hole in the ‘dripper’ section right next to the original hole
  • Turn on automatic irrigation once per fortnight if we get rain or once per week in warmer weather with no rain
  • When soils have been dry for a period of time they can become hydrophobic (repel water). The addition of a soil wetting agent such as Saturaid will help alleviate this condition. Apply this over the entire garden including the lawn, and water in well.
  • Top up mulches to conserve as much water as possible as the heat increases. Mulch should be at least 35 mm thick
