- Check lawns for soil compaction in high traffic areas (such as where you regularly walk, kids play or you park cars) by pushing a garden fork into these areas. If the fork penetrates less than 25mm the soil will need to be aerated using a garden fork (for a small area) or a corer for a larger area. You may need to consider a change of use or surface such as paving, crushed granite or turning the area into garden beds
- Lightly fertilise with a granulated lawn food such as Dynamic Lifter or Grow Green. Check the pH level of the lawn and adjust with dolomite if necessary. Ensure the dolomite is washed in well so it moves into the soil and doesn’t ‘burn’ the leaves
- Add topsoil to uneven areas and scatter seed to fill in dead patches
We can do it all for you using our team of qualified horticulturists.
