- Improve a fallow veggie patch by applying dolomite or lime, well-rotted manure and cover with lucerne to suppress weed growth and bring in the worms to till the soil and save your back!
- Plant seedlings of shallots and plan an area for a couple of globe artichokes to be planted next month. They will need to be left for a few years so the position will be semi-permanent. Consider planting them in the flower garden as an architectural feature.
- Plant seedlings of Asian greens, spinach and silver beet. Make sure you keep them growing quickly with foliar feeds or they will become bitter, bolt and go to seed
